Assist with research and documentation
Research for the Collection's object files - Object files are essential museum references for information on items in the collection. Generic research files form part of our object files and contain general information on items of our collection.
The internet and Google are great resource's for finding information for our research files, however most of our volunteers are caught up with the day to day running of the Museum and don't get a lot of time for research. If you have an interest in doing some research for museum object files contact us here and we will provide you with information on our research needs.Articles for our journal - The Museum's quarterly journal will contain technical articles on firearms, Factory manufacture both military and commercial, the history of high precision mass production, and the social aspects of Factory life. If you specialise in a related field or have a story we welcome original articles for inclusion in our journal. Articles may be sent by post or email.
Stories from ex-employees - We are particularly interested in preserving the stories of Factory ex-employees. Either written or recorded, long or short, we would love to have your tales of the funny, the sad, the exciting, and just the day to day events of the Factory or connected with the factory. These stories are like gold, often filling the gaps in our archives and giving life to the Factory history. You do not have to give the names of the people in your story. Stories can be sent by post or email
